Today’s interview is with Tosca Lee.
Tosca Lee is the award-winning, New York Times bestselling author of the House of Bathory duology (THE PROGENY and FIRSTBORN), ISCARIOT, THE LEGEND OF SHEBA, DEMON: A MEMOIR, HAVAH: THE STORY OF EVE, and the Books of Mortals series with New York Times bestseller Ted Dekker (FORBIDDEN, MORTAL, SOVEREIGN). A notorious night-owl, she loves watching TV, eating bacon, playing video games and football with her kids, and sending cheesy texts to her husband. You can find Tosca at www.ToscaLee.com, on social media, or hanging around the snack table. And be sure to check out ISMENI, the free e-short prequel to THE LEGEND OF SHEBA!
Q: How are you?
A: So glad to be chatting with you today!
Q: What is the current book you are promoting?
A: The Progeny, book 1 in my House of Bathory duology.
Q: Who is your favorite character in your book and why?
A: I feel like I should say Audra, my main character, given all that I’ve put her through and how much I love her. But I’m going to say Luka because he’s so darned romantic.
Q: Who is your least favorite character and why?
A: The Historian. You’ll see why.
Q: If you could have your book made into a movie, who would you want to direct it?
A: Scott Derrickson (Dr. Strange). I’ve been a fan of his work for years!
Q: Dessert: cake or pie and why?
A: Bacon. Seriously, I’d take bacon over dessert any night of the week.
Q: If there was one thing you could do to change the world, what would it be?
A: I’d see to it that no child ever goes hungry and no woman ever feels unsafe in her own home.
Q: What is your favorite comfort food?
A: All the food.
A: A reader actually inspired this book when he asked me to write something about “Blood Countess” Elizabeth Bathory. But sometimes it’s the news, or a cool idea that pops up in a conversation with my husband, or just something that sounds like fun.
Q: Tell us something unique about you:
A: While working on The Progeny and researching the life of Elizabeth Bathory (AKA the most prolific female serial killer of all time), I actually learned that I’m distantly related to her. Ack!!
Q: What is your favorite word?
